A lot of people have noted that Marty Rathbun speeches and blog articles are taking on more of an hypnotic sounding tone, and yet his sheep don’t seem to notice. I believe the following may shed a bit of light on those concerns.
Marty Rathbun developed a technique that he called “bully thunder” for his presentations. The “bully thunder” consists of a series of “facts” and “stats” of the shack – all exaggerated, and some made up out of whole cloth – being forcefully communicated to Marty’s audience and accented with overwhelming and building rap music, vieos and graphics being flashed in the recipients’ faces. Bully thunder is considered achieved if, and only if, the entire Marty crowd is swept to their feet in adoring, accepting their leader, i.e., Marty! Marty is obsessed with ensuring his articles and speeches have several “bully thunder” moments. Over the years, Marty weeded out the involvement of others in dealing with internal church matters and, now, his independent sheep. When you add to the equation that virtually all the independents have been forced, coerced and conditioned into immediately and savagely punishing the slightest indication of “doubt” about the infallibility of Marty Rathbun that manifests itself with any Marty’s follower, you’ve got a perfect recipe for disaster. That is, mind controlling hypnotism on a mass scale, according to Marty’s latest mambo jumbo theory. Marty failed to listen to that LRH lecture contained in the Congresses about “brainwashing”.
Let us also consider the following facts. First, over the past few decades Marty has attempted to alter Ethics, Admin and Tech. Marty’s favorite game is bullying and then punish people.
Don’t be fooled by Marty because behind the scene he bosses his followers around. If he doesn’t like one of them it’s over.

Well now that sure is true, and I can personally testify to it. I don’t fully support Marty, but every now and again I think he has a valid point – or at least that is what I used to think. I posted a few comments on support of him.
When he started undermining the wins people are having on TRs and Objectives I felt I had to correct some of the falsehoods. Personally I had incredible wins the second time round on my TRs and Objectives, and so did several of my friends.
Marty cannot have anyone challenge him. I emailed him privately to say that I disagreed with him on this (my comments never got posted publicly) and in response he just said that the Church was dead, and that if I thought anything else, then so was I. He would not engage intellectually and it was clear that he expects people to have his viewpoint or no viewpoint.
I have had a few other altercations with him since. He is the one liner King and refuses ever to engage anyone who challenges him. He is his own worst enemy. He has tuned me away.
I had exactly the same experience with Marty. I thought we were on the same page and were friends. But he turned on me when I disagreed with him, and snapped like a rabid dog. It was unexpected and since then I have dropped my comm with him.
It is an understatement to say that Marty Rathbun is a bully. My girlfriend’s husband’s brother was declared by Marty via some kangaroo court type comm ev that Marty set up and overruled. They are still trying to sort out the mess he made of their family with his violations of policy and his disgusting lack of humanity.
I love this site and hope you fully expose the creep for what he is. When enough light has been shone onto him he will as-is and disappear forever.
Isn’t it horrible that people give people like him the benefit of the doubt and fall into the ugly facade that hide the true nature of their personality? People shouldn’t have to be constantly on their guard to live life. They should be able to trust without some desperate ghoul sucking their days away.
I guess everyone needs to have a little part of themselves set to “Constant Vigilance”, because it is obvious that leeches like Marty Rathbun can appear when they deserve and expect an honest partner.
You are so right. Every position on the organizing board needs to be filled and monitored constantly. Constant Vigilance is part of your management duties, because there is always someone like Marty Rathbun who is so self-involved, so dependent on the energy of others to keep their little green men at bay.
